Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP)  (Learn More...)

Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP) was started in 2012 is a youth-driven, statewide group that seeks to unleash the full potential for personal growth among foster and adoptive children in Iowa. AMP members are ages 13 and up who have been involved in foster care, adoption or other out-of-home placements. AMP offers leadership opportunities, service learning projects, speaking opportunities, and educational/vocational assistance. AMP also provides the life skills youth need to become self-sufficient, independent adults.


Female Specific Life Skills  (Learn More...)
Female Specific Life Skills started in 2008 strives to enhance interpersonal adjustment, reduce law violations and prevent out-of-home placements for teenage girls in Des Moines County. The core service is provided through group sessions that also include individual and family sessions. Services are provided at no cost to the family and are funded through a grant provided through Juvenile Court Services/Criminal Juvenile Justice Prevention (CJJP).


RISE (Learn More...)
RISE was started in 2006 is a school-based program that provides individualized counseling services within the Burlington & West Burlington school setting to elementary students who are referred by school personnel and who could benefit from one-on-one services with a licensed counselor. Students participating in the RISE program are challenged to become Respectful Individuals who are Strong and Empowered, not only in the classroom but in all other aspects of their lives. The RISE program is able to offer services through funding provided by the Burlington/West Burlington Area United Way.


After Care Services (ACS) (Learn More...)
After Care Services (ACS) and Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) started 2006 provides services for youth who have turned 18 while residing in foster care. Resources and support are provided such as transitional living services, employment training and counseling.
