School Program  (Learn More...)

Young House Family Services operates two community school programs that provide therapeutic educational services through a partnership with local school districts. Christamore School Program was started in 2005 and partners with area school districts. Fairfield School Program was started in 2012 and partners with the Fairfield Community School District. In addition to academic instruction, students enrolled in the community school programs receive intense skill development education designed to help students establish coping skills, build healthy relationships and appropriately manage their behavior. Classrooms are designed with a 1-5 staff ratio providing more support, structure and supervision than a traditional classroom. Both school programs are designed to be a short-term intervention intended to help students gain the skills they need to transition back to their home school district.

Juvenile Court School Liaison Program
Juvenile Court School Liaison Program started in 1998 – operates in three locations; Burlington, Mt. Pleasant and Keokuk. The Liaisons work closely with Juvenile Court Officers and school personnel to monitor student’s truancy, tardiness and behaviors during school time including counseling and defusing situations that occur during the school day. Adolescents are involved with Juvenile Court Services and/or the Department of Human Services.
