Young House Family Services is a COA accredited, licensed child placing agency in Iowa. Young House Family Services’ caring staff is trained to conduct comprehensive homestudies that provide a complete understanding of the family’s ability to care for a child or additional children. Post adoption services evaluate the child's development and progress adjusting to his or her new family and life in a new home and/or country. We provide both domestic and international homestudies and post adoption services. The requirements and frequency of these reports vary from state to state and from country to country. We will work closely with your placing agency or adoption advocate, ensuring all requirements are met for your reporting requirements.
We are considered an exempt provider for international adoption, as allowed through the Hague Adoption Convention, an international treaty that provides important safeguards to protect the best interests of children, birth parents, and adoptive parents who are involved in intercountry adoptions. Post adoption reports for international adoption provide assurances to political leaders and adoption officials in the child’s country of origin that the children they place in permanent families through intercountry adoption are receiving appropriate care and protection.
